Mexican Food(?), Bombs, Mummies, and Two Wild and Crazy Guys!

September 1-6, 2012

Helsinki, Finland

Today, we attempted something very dangerous: Mexican Food.  As a general rule, you should never order Mexican Food when you're in a foreign country because they won't do it right, AND you'll get a stomach ache.

This time, we got lucky.

Fajitas, the safest thing you can order (the hardest thing for them to mess up.)

And here's one for my list of "nevers."  NEVER go into town with your ship friends without taking your own wifi device.  You could be stuck like this with no one to talk to.

And they had the nerve to criticize me for falling asleep in this chair a few minutes later.  How inconsiderate!
Oh, and if I haven't pointed it out yet, a very special welcome to Kathleen Burgoon!  Kathleen joined us at about this time to replace the Anne Mathews.  There are a lot of bad things I'd like to say about Anne, but instead I'm just going to allude to them.  Anyway, welcome Kathleen!

On board the whisper docked overnight in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation.

Tonight we in the crew had an "Ethnic Costume Party."  The idea was that you would come wearing your own ethnicity's traditional clothing.

But that idea didn't last very long, and we had already started thinking of any possible ethnicity, and abut how offensive we could be at the same time.

Hence, the Suicide Bomber

Ahhhh!  La la la la la la la la!  <Boooooom!>

And here we have some Mummies from Egypt.

Vince and Kathleen

The Ungrateful Dead

It wasn't much easier to see in this room with your own eyes, let a lone through a camera lense, believe me.

One of the rarest and coolest experience you can have abroad is running into a friend from home.

 Meet Christopher Ryan Higgins.

Chris is a cool guy.  He's got a cool friend too.

We're so cool, we're going to go to the king's own private hunting grounds.

One upon a time, the king, and only the king, hunted here.

These two cool guys walked all the way to the Vasa museum and looked inside.  They were too cool to pay for two tickets to walk inside and see something that you could see from the outside.

This ship sunk in it's own harbor on it's maiden voyage.  Trololololol!

Chris will now do two super cool poses for you.

The "Yeah, I backpack through Europe"

The Fountainhead

Across the water a little bit from the Vasa is this amusement park.  How cool is this roller coaster?  Look at the spiky thing.  It's holding about four people.

And lastly, the coolest thing of all:  a poster for an upcoming Starcraft II Tournament.

Can't wait to be home again, pwning noobs.
