Our Upgrade to St. John's

St. Thomas, USVI
Oh wait--just kidding, St. John's, USVI.

Two things:  First!  The day before, we were back in St. Maartens.  The cool thing about the Caribbean is that you can get a good deal on just about anything, so long as that anything happens to be either cameras or jewelry.  So, I got a pretty awesome Olympus waterproof and submersible camera.  And today, I'm going to use it.  Second thing!  We got off the ship in St. Thomas, USVI and realized that we were docked next to a giant Carnival ship.  Not only that, but the area seemed to be nothing but shops and tourist traps, so Marcy and I did the best thing we could have possibly done: we got on another boat and sailed to the next island.

So, thanks to our quick spontaneous planning (oxymoron) skills, welcome to beautiful St. John's!

We went snorkeling!  And now it's time to test out the water camera.  No matter how much you know that your camera is safe under water, it never really feels that way.  Every time the thing would go under water, I would have a small heart attack.  So, after a few minutes of getting over that feeling, we were off.

The first fish I saw.
When I go snorkeling, I like to dive down and get up close.  That way I get a good look at all the coral and fish.

When Marcy looks down, she sees coral, fish, and ME!

Blue stuff!

Orangish Stuff!

Zebra type fish!

Camo Fish!

The Parrot Fish swims by a picture of itself!

The Parrot Fish is hungry!

The Parrot Fish is doing it's Parrot Fish thing!

I'm still at the bottom with the fish.

Marcy likes her noodle.

My facebook profile picture for a few months.

One of my favorite things about St. John's was the color of the water.  Water color changes throughout the world.  There are a lot of factors that go into it.  To get colors like this, you have to have the perfect mix of everything.
Goodbye St. John's!

It was a good day!
