St. Kitts: Coconuts and Monkeys

November 11, 2012
St. Kitts

Honestly, I was about to write off St. Kitts as a waste of time.  But then something really cool happened:  I was over at some "resort" (honestly, it wasn't that nice, but whatever) when all of a sudden this guy comes up to me while I'm standing next to a palm tree and he asks me if I want a coconut.  I say, YES!  And this guy totally starts climbing the tree!

Then he hops down, cuts it open, and pours it into a cup.

 Pretty freaking incredible.

Much better than this attempt at fish and chips that the "resort" provided.  You know what, it wasn't that bad.  What killed it for me was the amount of flies buzzing around while I tried to eat.  I remember having one hand on the food, and the other hand constantly waving around my head.

At least the place looked nice.  And Marcy and I got to use a paddle boat.  That was something to do.

Right, I did say that two awesome things happened to me on this island.  Thing two: Monkeys!

Monkeys in Diapers!
Okay, that's enough.  Back to the ship.
T'he Whisper is on the right.  You want to be on the smaller ship.

But honestly, the best thing about St. Kitts is that when you walk into town right off the quay, there is a little side street to the right, and if you take it all the way down, on the left side you will find a small Indian quick-e-mart that sends out the strongest wifi signal in the Caribbean.  On my last day in St. Kitts I spent eight hours there.
