St. Maarten, our unexpected stop.

St. Maarten

After two more days of sailing, we were scheduled to be in Saint Barth's.  Well, we show up there and the water is so rocky that we can't operate the tenders safely, so we turn around and head to the next closest Island which is St. Maarten, not even an hour away.  Are the guests mad, eh, probably, but you gotta do what you gotta do.  Safety First!

And wouldn't you know it, St. Maarten turns out to be the home of the guy who calls himself "The Yoda Guy."  Apparently, he's one of the people who helped out with the creation of the original Yoda robot for Star Wars Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back.  He also was involved with many other aspects of the Star Wars movie, and as a result he has created this little museum.
And of course it was closed because it was Sunday.
Even though it was closed, I was happy to have been there.  My mom and grandma went there once and brought me back some souvenirs.  It's always fun to see a place where someone in your family has been before.

I feel like this second story restaurant is missing a "d."

You know what's awesome?  Day passes to resorts!

And if you look left, you can see a swim up bar.
Because I always photograph my food.

That just might be St. Barth's over there.

Room Service!

Thankfully, we didn't sail until late that night, so we were able to experience the full range of benefits from the resort and even stay a little into the night.
Me and the moon over the water.

Because I like to leave you with that WTF type feeling.
Marcy and Vince.  Like I said, best friends.
